Kerry Bow Out Of Oscar Traynor

Oscar Traynor Semi-Final

Kerry League  0    Limerick league   2
The Kerry District league team bowed out of the Oscar Traynor Cup at Mounthawk Park on Sunday when they lost, in the wind and the rain, to their Limerick counterparts. The sides were still level in the 74th minute but by the time the clock had registered the 76th minute of the contest Kerry found themselves two goals behind. Jonathan Grant intercepted the ball at midfield and pushed it wide to Shane Clarke whose first time shot  curled into the top corner to beat David Hennessy for the first time in the competition. From the kick off  Colm Moloney  lofted the ball out of defence and Grant outpaced the shocked Kerry defence to seal victory with a stunning second goal. Kerry created an opening in the 83rd minute but the Limerick keeper saved well from Fergal Maunsel.
